Is a Facebook Phone in the works? The company denied it over the weekend, but turns out this all might depend on what the definition of is is.
In a Clintonesque interview Facebook’s founder Mark Zuckerberg told TechCrunch that “when people say ‘building a phone’ they actually can mean very different things.”
And today Bloomberg is reporting that Facebook is designing a phone with INQ Mobile and in talks with AT&T about carrying the phone in the US.
Whether or not a branded Facebook phone ever comes to market, its clear that Zuckerberg and company working hard to ensure that Facebook can get its little fingers into everything you do on your mobile device. Remember, Facebook’s business is sharing your social life with advertisers.
In his interview with TechCrunch Zuckerberg laid out the goal:
“Just make it so that you log into your phone once, and then everything that you do on your phone is social.”…And that would make every phone a Facebook phone.
