Mobile phone carrier Verizon wireless will soon start charging users tiered rates depending on how much data they download. That’s according to Verizon CEO Ivan Seidenberg, who spoke Thursday at a Goldman Sachs conference.
Verizon is following in the footsteps of AT&T, which introduced its own tiered data plans this summer. Seidenberg said he expected to roll out tiered billing for mobile data plans sometime in the next four to six months.
