White House uses a white board to make its case on Bush tax cuts

Marketplace senior editor Paddy Hirsch put Marketplace on the web video map with his Whiteboard video series, in which he explains complex financial topics in easy-to-understand terms.
For example, in one episode Paddy compares the SEC’s recent fraud charges against Goldman Sachs to a gambler and a bookie conspiring on a horse race. In another episode, he describes why banks are being targeted by the so-called Volcker Rule for operating like casinos.
It appears that Paddy’s way of explaining things has caught the attention of the top economic team at the White House as it struggles to make its case in the debate over tax cuts. The White House posted a whiteboard video of its own today on the White House blog in an attempt to explain in “simple, understandable terms” its position in the debate.
We’re a little biased but we think you’ll agree that Austan Goolsbee, the new Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers who stars in the video, is no Paddy Hirsch. See for yourself:
