MID-DAY UPDATE: Wells Fargo re-files, Nissan recalls and high speed rails

Wells Fargo will re-file 55,000 problematic foreclosure documents, but will not issue a blanket moratorium. Today, we learned that the number of people filing for unemployment is at its lowest level since July. Also, in transportation news, some people in the rail business are unhappy about an announcement from federal officials of $2.5 billion in high-speed rail grants.
In surprising news, another vehicle recall — but this time it’s from Nissan, involving more that 2 million vehicles with an ignition switch problem. Meanwhile, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has urged China to clarify its policy on rare earth metals, this on the heels of reports that China curbed exports to the U.S., Europe and Japan.
