Don’t just throw away your clothes and fill up landfills. Very worn items that can’t be reused can still be recycled. Textiles can be shredded into fibers used to make new products. Non-profits like Salvation Army and Goodwill will send donations that are too worn to re-sell to “rag sorters”, textile recyclers who will sell clothing overseas to developing countries, turn unusable items into wiping and polishing cloths and lastly shred leftover pieces into fibers used to make new products.
