Murdoch’s "Daily" delayed several weeks

John Moe Jan 14, 2011

I’ve been following the path of this allegedly impending “tablet newspaper” for a while now since the whole thing seems too screwy to exist. But perhaps, as a bumblebee does, “The Daily”, produced by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp, will take flight anyway. If it does, however, it won’t be for several weeks after the project was postponed by several weeks. There was supposed to be an event next week at a museum in San Francisco where Murdoch and Steve Jobs would present it together but that’s off. The problem, we are told, is not on Murdoch’s end but on Apple’s. They want to offer a way for people to get The Daily pushed to the iPad every morning so you don’t have to download it, it’s just there. And what you get is what you get, the update only happens once a day, so if there’s news over the course of the day, The Daily doesn’t tell you about it.
