Facebook redesigns Questions

John Moe Mar 25, 2011

No, not the grammatical convention of interrogative sentences, I mean Facebook Questions. It’s been in beta and limited roll out for a while and mimicking other Q & A sites like Quora where people ask something and then anyone can answer with special emphasis given to experts. But why am I telling you this? You’ve been using it for a while, right? Wrong. No one has. And that’s the point. The redesign concentrates on just your friends weighing in and taking polls. The questions and answers are all public but it’s your own network. This is actually the second time in two days we’ve heard about Facebook staying in its own lane. Yesterday was the story that Facebook Deals would focus on social activities rather than be a straight up Groupon competitor. Maybe someone at Facebook is realizing that it’s not about Facebook mimicking the world but more about the world being replicated in Facebook form.
