The President was at Facebook headquarters yesterday for a big virtual town hall event. There’s plenty of reporting on how Obama quipped that he was the one who made Mark Zuckerberg wear a jacket and tie and how Zuckerberg gave Obama a hoodie.
Ha ha, yes, hilarious, they dress differently. Wow.
That part doesn’t matter.
This was a political mission as Obama got first mover status at the company that hosts what will likely be the single most important communications platform of the upcoming presidential election. Obama was able to get a message out to younger voters and the in house audience was packed with allies like Nancy Pelosi. Note how often you’ve heard Obama and Facebook mentioned in the same breath recently. It’s the new swing state.
