The number of home owners who were 60 days or more behind on paying their mortgages fell for the fifth consecutive quarter, according to TransUnion. The national fell from 6.41 percent in 2010’s fourth quarter to 6.1 percent.
A Pew Research Center study is out asking the question, “Is college worth the cost?” According to the poll, more than half of Americans think the nation’s college system is not good value for money. Good news for J.C. Penney in the first quarter. The company’s net income rose nearly 7 percent due to cost-cutting and popular exclusive merchandise. The company reported a net income of $64 million in the first quarter.
The National Association for Business Economics is slashing its forecast for U.S. growth. The group now predicts the economy will grow at a rate
of 2.8 percent this year — down from a 3.3 percent prediction in February.
To Texas which has just gotten a taste of a delicious California treat known as In-n-Out Burger. The chain opened up its first restaurants east of Arizona last week. And the reaction was pretty amazing. One woman was filmed crying after she tasted her first In-n-Out double cheeseburger — known as a double double. And the drive thru line in Frisco, Texas at lunchtime was two miles long. Well, Texas here’s a tip from LA: If you want to avoid the wait just say there’s a celebrity in the car.
A German man won the title of the World’s Best Beard at the World Beard and Mustache Competition in Norway yesterday. Hairdresser Elmar Weisser beat out 160 others. Weisser’s beard was shaped like a moose and Norwegian flag. And he’s no stranger to the competition. Six years ago he won by molding his beard into Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate.
