Sony and Epsilon to testify

John Moe May 31, 2011

The two companies will be on Capitol Hill on Thursday, testifying about the massive hacks to their databases of customer information. They’ll be appearing before the House Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade, chaired by Rep. Mary Bono Mack (R-CA). Sony had previously declined to attend calls to such a hearing, saying they were too busy, well, fixing the massive security breaches and all. Mack’s subcommittee is said to be preparing legislation on corporate data management to be introduced in the next few weeks.
