"I ONLY watch cinema in UltraViolet." – Film snob hipster of the future

John Moe Jul 14, 2011

Get ready for UltraViolet. A group called the Digital Entertainment Content Ecosystem is gearing up to push a new licensing program for the UltraViolet format. These are content providers, hardware and software makers. They’re making a bet that THIS will be the way everyone wants to watch everything from now on. Or at least until the next thing replaces it. The idea goes that in the future, when you buy a movie in the UltraViolet format, you will be able to download it or stream it to any number of devices. This is especially important with rise in cloud storage. The goal is to have UltraViolet content accessed from anywhere and play on any device.
