Does the world really need another "social networking portal"? Time Warner thinks so.

Adriene Hill Aug 4, 2011

Next week Time Warner will launch Flixster Collections, a new, movie-based social networking site.

From All Things D:

They want Flixster to serve as your starting point whenever you’re thinking about renting, buying or watching a movie, or even when you’re thinking about thinking about it.

The free service will connect users’ Netflix, Hulu, iTunes and Amazon accounts. It’ll display the movies you’ve already watched as a collection of movie posters. And, it’ll let you buy tickets to movie theaters, check out reviews, and share all your movie experiences with friends. Ah friends, what would the internet be without them?
