The Kindle Touch will go for $149 for 3G model, $99 for Wi-fi model. The regular old Kindle? $79. Again, we’ve talked about this before but a Kindle is a shopping cart for Amazon. It’s a loss leader. Buy one and you’ll be buying a lot of digital files from Amazon that the company doesn’t have to store or ship. They’d maybe even make money if they gave them away for free. Still: those prices? Wow.
The Kindle Touch has a nice feature where you can tap on a specific term and get a Wikipedia entry of it. Don’t know what the Hawley-Smoot Tariff was? Tap it, get up to speed, keep reading. Neato.
