Dropbox offers heavy duty cloud storage for businesses

John Moe Oct 27, 2011

Dropbox, the popular cloud storage service we talked about last Friday, estimates around one million of its 45 million users sign in with a business email address, so why not offer a service aimed at businesses. Dropbox for Teams is that service, and it debuts today. For around $800 a year businesses can get 1000 GB of cloud storage for all their collaborating needs. A big concern, however, is security.

As the New York Times points out, “In June, a security breach left Dropbox accounts accessible for several hours, and a complaint filed with the Federal Trade Commission says Dropbox misled users about privacy.” Dropbox says it uses security standards similar to banks and is working on a two-step password verification process.
