Slip another Galaxy Tab on the barbie

Marc Sanchez Nov 30, 2011

Mmmmmmm, I love a good barbequed tablet. Australian courts have ruled against Apple in its bid to temporarily ban Samsung from selling the Galaxy Tab 10.1. The tablet could go on sale as early as Friday. The ban was in effect until the court could rule whether Samsung infringed on Apple’s patents, but that trial has yet to start and there’s no date set. This case is just small battle in the patent wars. In a similar case in Germany, Samsung is still banned from selling the device.

And as the Wall Street Journal reports:

Apple this week raised the bar by filing a motion in a German court to ban sales across the entire 27-nation EU of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1N—a version of the tablet Samsung had modified with the aim of sidestepping the ban.

Samsung said in an official statement Wednesday that it’s “pleased with today’s unanimous decision” by the Australian court.
