Tess Vigeland: Our little blue plastic friend is not going far. I should say, did not go far this week. We revealed the winners here at Marketplace earlier this week. A few good friends came over and paid me a little holiday visit. Roll tape!

Vigeland: So here in the L.A. studio, I have Liz Weston, David Lazarus and Kathy Kristoff with me and I have Chris Farrell joining us from Minnesota. And Chris, unfortunately, we do not have a package for you to open. It is on the way, it’s in the mail. But I would like the three of you in L.A. to open the packages in front of you. Make a lot of noise, ’cause we’re here for radio.

David Lazarus: Let me hold mine up the microphone so everybody can see it.

Vigeland: Chris, you can pretend.

Chris Farrell: I can pretend and kinda enjoy the sound.

Lazarus: A new car!

Everyone laughing

Vigeland: You are all four winners of this week’s Marketplace Money Piggy Award.

Everyone cheers

Vigeland: A highly coveted prize, your blue pig. Thank you all for a wonderful year and congratulations on winning this award.

Kathy Kristoff: Thank you!

Liz Weston: Thank you!

Lazarus: Well, Oprah’s guests get a new house…

Everyone laughs

Weston: Yeah, wait…

Farrell: Just saying, right?

Vigeland: As soon as they wanna pay me Oprah’s salary, I’d be happy to buy you all houses.

Weston: This is wonderful. I’ll treasure it always.

Kristoff: Absolutely.

Vigeland: Thank you all every much.

Farrell, Kristoff, Lazarus and Weston: Thank you Tess.

By the way, we gathered all four of our experts/winners together to talk with them about 2011: The year that was… You can hear that conversation on the show next week.
