Comcast joined the flurry of announcements coming from Las Vegas and the 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), yesterday when it showed off AnyPlay, new integration for cable subscribers who want to watch their stories on iPads. Mashable describes the service: “Through the Xfinity TV app on the iPad, AnyPlay allows users to watch the channels that are included in their subscription lineup. This means that while someone watches an episode of a show on the couch in the living room, you can catch up another show elsewhere in the house through an iPad.” The device will let users watch a standard TV through a set-top box, while someone else can watch a different show on the iPad. I don’t know if this is going to help or hurt you guys who want to watch TV in bed. You know who you are. On one hand, if you’re feeling sleepy on the couch, you can finish watching Law & Order SVU all cozied up in bed. But if your significant other is there, trying to catch up on sleep, s/he might not appreciate the glow from your Sanford and Son reruns.
