This final note today, two items from the world of bankruptcy court.
First of all, American Airlines. We learned today parent company AMR — which is in Chapter 11 — has asked for permission to cut 13,000 jobs and eliminate a couple of employee pension plans.
Also, Kodak. The company said in a filing this week it can’t afford the “significant annual fee” to keep its name on the Kodak Theater in Hollywood. That’s where the Oscars are.
