New York Fashion Week kicks off today, and designers are jumping on the Twitter train to show of their looks. Burberry scored a coup during its Spring show last September by tweeting pictures of its models just before they were sent down the runway. Now, designers Tommy Hilfiger and Rebecca Minkoff want to get in on the action. The designers want more than their clothes trending as they let loose a series of hashtags and behind-the-scenes pics for Twitter followers. Diane von Furstenberg is taking the trend a step further as Mashable reports: “Perhaps most creatively, Diane von Furstenberg has teamed up with iPhone video app Viddy to shoot and distribute 15- to 30-second videos — rather than photos — of looks backstage.” So for those of you already looking ahead to sweater weather and fall fashion, keep refreshing your feeds. For the rest of you, stick with the wool swim suit. Even though a little itchy, it’s timeless.
