YouTube is usually all about the quick fix of funny or poignant or edu-muh-cational, but as quiet as a M-I-C K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E, Disney’s YouTube channel has been bulking up with full episodes over the past couple weeks. Disney announced a deal with YouTube last fall, and said it would focus on original content for the video site. The “Last Minute Book Report” animated series seems to fit that bill nicely. More prevalent, however are tween favorites like “Suite Life of Zack and Cody” and “So Random.”
It’s interesting, especially in light of our show today, which talked about the stagnation of TV everywhere, since we have a traditional media company playing nice with the Internets. See, cable companies, studios DO want to be everywhere, especially when it means more kids getting hooked on brands that will last a lifetime.
Hat tip to All Things D for digging around YouTube for this one.
