How to spend your time in line waiting to buy an iPad

Marc Sanchez Mar 15, 2012

The new iPad goes on sale tomorrow, and along with the launch of every new Apple product comes the lines that snake outward from the doors of Apple stores. People camping. People getting giddy. People getting weird(er). If you are that guy, and you must go out and brave the elements and be the first to touch your shiny, new whosie-whats, Wired has put together a list to help you pass the time. Highlights include re-thinking that choice to call in sick, because you never know when a local news crew is going to show up and show your boss just how sick you aren’t. Also, there’s probably no need to get there crazy ahead of time. Roberto Baldwin writes, “I’ve arrived at Apple lines about 90 minutes prior to the store opening and have never been turned away without a new product. Sure, you can show up two days early and camp out, but your iPad won’t be any more special than the one purchased by the guy who stood in line for just two hours.”

Also, try not to act too smug, when you show up at my barbecue this weekend with your whosie-what. In fact, please don’t bring it. In fact, I’m sorry to do this, but I’m un-inviting you. Nothing personal.
