What’s the matter, are you not getting enough attention? Facebook wants to feed your y-o-u habit by offering to promote your updates on your friends’ news feeds. The idea is that, for $2, your updates will get star treatment even if nobody really cares that you “totally just macked a Big Mac” and are “chillin’ by the Red Box dispenser at Walgreens. Ladies?” From Gizmodo: “Currently, the pay-for scheme is apparently only available for a small pool of users while it undergoes testing.”
Has it really come to this? Paying cash money to be “important” on a website? If this makes it out of the testing phase, the people I’ll feel most sorry for are those parents who have given their insecure, lonely teens access to a credit card. That bill could add up Q to the ICK.
