The Fed will wrap up a meeting today in Washington and the expectation is that policymakers will launch more monetary stimulus to boost the economy.

The Greeks have formed a government after about seven weeks of political uncertainty.

Last night at the G20 meeting in Mexico, President Obama said Europe is capable of solving its debt problems without help from the United States.

You can buy a lot of fake stuff in China: electronics, designer clothes, DVDs. But to one man, those fake items were child’s play. So Lin Chunping decided to buy a fake American bank — the Atlantic Bank of Delaware — which he bought for 60 million fake dollars back in fake January. People were so surprised that someone with no banking experience could buy a prestigious bank like the Atlantic Bank of Delaware, Lin was given a political appointment. Long story, short: he’s in real jail now.

To the U.K., where a Carpenter named Dave Miller is retiring at the age of 64 with a perfect attendance record. According to the Sun newspaper, he hasn’t taken a sick day since 1964. He says he doesn’t know what he’s going to do now,  but “I certainly won’t be sitting around doing nothing.”

And a new study suggests a potent factor in crime rates across countries. It’s not income, or income inequality — the usual suspects. According to researchers at the Universities of Oregon and Kansas the number of people who believe in Hell is a strong predictor that crime will be reduced in specific areas. And weirdly, more believers in heaven are associated with *more* crime. Apparently a chance of redemption takes the pressure off.
