Employee riots at India’s largest carmaker, Maruti, have burned down part of the factory, shut down the plant and killed a human resources manager. 

We’re a week away from the Opening Ceremonies of the Summer Olympics, but fears are growing in London that the games may not start smoothly. The union representing border agents at Heathrow airport is planning to go on strike a day before the Olympics begin. 

Two years after the Dodd-Frank Law was enacted, many in the banking sector are still grumbling about the change in regulation. How does that compare to when the rules change in another American pastime: Baseball?

Earnings are out today from two giants in the energy business, Baker Hughes and Schlumberger. You might not know those names, but they’re the ones that help companies you do know like BP and Chevron drill for oil and gas. Marketplace’s Mark Garrison tells us how their bottoms lines could affect your gasoline bill.

Did you want the Jersey Shore gang back? Well, you got ’em. Jon Stewart, Spongebob and Jersey Shore are back on for DirectTV subscribers. Viacom had blacked out Comedy Central, Nickelodeon and 16 other channels during a contract dispute. So who lost, and who won? 

Well, last week we told you about the collapse of Peregrine Financial Group. And when the FBI began to seize assets from Peregrine, among them were silver Spongebob Squarepants coins. Turns out Peregrine sold four coin sets for $259. According to reports, each coin shows a character from the Nickelodeon program and includes the inscription: In Spongebob We Trust.

You’ve of course heard of Old Spice — who hasn’t. Well, here comes “Old Book.” Famed perfumer Geza Schoen has created “Paper Passion,” a perfume with the scent of that classic no one’s taken out of the library in a while. I suppose many of us have a nostalgic fondness for that sensation. Whether we want to put it on our bodies…well, to each his own.
