Did somebody say ‘climate change’?
The election is now just 11 days away, and out on the stump, the candidates are talking about jobs, taxes, Medicare, Medicaid — you name it. Yet one issue we haven’t heard much about this election season is climate change.
Governor Mitt Romney’s campaign literature states that the world is warming and that humans are in fact contributing. As for policy, Romney has proposed to cut government subsidies for green energies, such as solar and wind, but makes no mention of subsidies for fossil fuels.
For his part, President Obama sees climate change as an urgent threat. However, while Obama pushes for green energy and green jobs, his campaign has largely stayed away from talking about climate change.
