Technology entrepreneurs, analysts and journalists are gathering in Las Vegas this week for the annual Consumer Electronics Show

CES, which has been around since 1967, is still a big deal in the tech world, famous for debuting such products as Tetris and the X-Box. While a lot of big electronics companies have sought lower profiles in recent years — Microsoft is notably absent this year — the tradeshow serves as a window into the consumer electronics future and is expected to draw about 150,000 people.

One company making a splash this year is Lenovo. The company will introduce a new, 20-inch sharable tablet computer, which allows multiple users to interface at the same time. Lenovo says the device is part of a new category called “tabletop computing.”

“Basically, you’ve had these desktops with big monitors that always stays in that up position,” says Samuel Dusi, who works in Lenovo’s corporate strategy and planning department. “Here, in tabletop, more people can gather around it. They can share all the different types of content that they have.”
