At G8 summit, tax avoidance takes center stage
Leaders of some the world’s richest countries meet in Northern Ireland today for the annual G8 summit. High on the agenda will be the issue of tax avoidance.
Leaders are likely to call for increased transparency on the part of financial institutions and corporations. British Prime Minister David Cameron said this clarity is essential.
“It is absolutely vital to tackling corruption, tackling tax evasion, and also the very aggressive tax avoidance which is doing damage to our economies,” Cameron said.
