Tesla S, maybe not so spiffy after all

A couple of weeks ago, you might fairly say that I gushed during the two days I drove a Tesla before an interview with CEO Elon Musk.

They are quite spiffy cars, but not perhaps as spiffy as we thought.

Back in August, Consumer Reports gave the new Tesla Model S 103 points out of a possible 100 — that is, it broke the scale.

Yeah, well, not so fast. On Tuesday, Consumer Reports said that while the car is still great, it’s got some reliability problems. (Which makes sense when you consider that it’s really just a big computer.)

The car, Consumer Reports said, “has an array of detailed and complicated maladies.” Still crazy fun to drive, though.
