Last week, retailers including Target and Best Buy reported stronger-than-expected third-quarter sales, adding to optimistic forecasts for the holiday season. The National Retail Federation predicts a 3.6 percent gain this year over last. The possible fly in the ointment? Uncertainty about consumer behavior in the aftermath of Donald Trump’s election.
