Welcome to our new series. We’re calling it “Adventures in Housing,” because more and more, that’s what finding and affording a place to live has become.
I’m Amy Scott, and I cover all things housing. We have a saying in my family: “Home is where most of your underwear is.” But of course it’s much more than that. Housing can determine where our kids go to school, how healthy we are, whether we can ever retire. And for too many people, a safe, stable place to live remains out of reach.
Whatever and wherever you call home, we want to hear about your adventures in housing. About the compromises, the workarounds, the sometimes monumental struggles. The roommates and houseguests and landlords. About buying, selling, renting and moving. About the dorms and shacks and money pits and houseboats and yurts and — you get the picture.
