Are carbon offsets actually offsetting?
When a company or a person causes carbon dioxide emissions, they can offset that by buying carbon credits — paying someone else to reduce CO2 emissions. But it’s hard to tell sometimes whether credits are legit or not. To deal with that problem, the White House is introducing a set of carbon credit standards.
